Ray arrived at the Care Centre in November 2013 - a very tiny baby of just a few months old, having very probably witnessed the recent killing of his mother. He is now around 18mths, and although he still sleeps with a carer in the nursery hut, he has flourished and put on weight and is a very active infant. Even before he could crawl, he would cling to a big soft toy and use it to slide himself around the floor of the nursery. Now he is happy to leave the arms of his carer to play on the jungle gym in the playground, and even venture out to swing on the small saplings and vines in the forest. Ray loves exploring and playing with leaves and sand. His awesome hairstyle when he was a tiny infant, has calmed down somewhat now and the very distinct dark strip of skin down the centre of his body remains. We are so happy he is in an environment where he is cherished and where there is hope of future release into the wild. We hope you will enjoy watching the very short movie below, and keep accompanying him on this journey.
